World Humanitarian Day is a day of remembrance set up for victims of the 2003 bombing of the Baghdad, Iraq United Nations Headquarters. Beyoncé promoted the August 19, 2012 observance by releasing a video for her hit single “I was Here.” The song, taken from her album 4, focuses on creating a legacy dedicated to making positive impacts in the lives of others.

The video was filmed on August 10, 2012 at the New York United Nations General Assembly Rooms and features a star packed audience including actress Julia Stiles, singer-songwriter The-dream and “I was Here” writer Diane Warren.

Beyoncé is no stranger to humanitarian causes. The singer has also been involved with projects benefiting the Survivor Foundation, Feeding America, the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund and the Lunchbox Foundation.
