Heroes actor Greg Grunberg joined thousands of people in Washington DC last week to raise awareness of epilepsy.

A week of activities kicked off last Monday with the Kids Speak Up! conference, which encouraged young people to become advocates for the 3 million living with epilepsy in the US. Thursday saw a congressional briefing led by Grunberg to highlight the need to increase support of epilepsy research and public awareness.

Saturday, march 27, saw Grunberg join NFL stars Alan Faneca of the New Jets, Jason Snelling of the Atlanta Falcons and Geoffrey Pope of the Philadelphia Eagles lead the National Walk for Epilepsy for the Epilepsy Foundation. It is the fourth time the event has been held.

Following the walk, Grunberg joined rockers In Remembrance on stage to play Mustang Sally in front of 12,000 people. Watch a video of Greg talking about the walk to CBS News here.
