Susan Sarandon will feature on today’s edition of CNN’s Impact Your World, and will talk about her work with Heifer International, a nonprofit focused on ending hunger and poverty while caring for the earth.

“Heifer International works to empower women in their communities until they overcome hunger and poverty. I watched this amazing work in progress on a trip with Heifer in Cambodia, and will be sharing my experience on CNN’s Impact Your World on Tuesday, October 22,” says Sarandon.

Susan Sarandon was recently honored by Heifer International at the Beyond Hunger event in LA for her long-time support of the organization. Susan even traveled Cambodia with her daughter, Eva Amurri, to meet with women empowered by Heifer International’s work.

Heifer’s mission is to end hunger and poverty while caring for the Earth. Since 1944, Heifer International has provided livestock and environmentally sound agricultural training to improve the lives of those who struggle daily for reliable sources of food and income. Heifer is currently working in 40 countries, including the United States, to help families and communities become more self-reliant.

CNN’s Impact Your World is an empowerment initiative that gives people an opportunity to interact with and respond to the news. CNN connects our worldwide audience to the interests, passions and causes they care about through the people and stories covered by our award winning journalists, as well as by those presented by prominent figures and celebrities.

It’s a movement inspired by the audience’s desire to be a part of the solution as they consume CNN news coverage on television, online and on their mobile devices. People are informed and connected to organizations that allow them to act easily and on demand, and then share with the CNN community their own personal impact on the world.
