More and more Hollywood stars, top musicians, pro athletes, and influential YouTubers are joining the vegan ranks, so the competition for the Hottest Vegan Celebrities of 2018 contest (run by peta2, PETA's youth division) was tougher than ever — but Jaden Smith and the Chloe x Halle sisters have come out on top.

In addition to being an entertainment industry jack-of-all-trades, actor and musician Jaden — who’s newly vegan — reveals that he’s also a whiz in the kitchen. Discussing his favorite meals in an interview with Food & Wine, he said, “I do cook at home because I can make meals for myself really easily, some brown rice, quinoa, beans, maybe some kale, maybe some herb aioli.” And when he’s visiting his famous family, he has plenty of options, too: “Usually, at my parents’ house, there are vegan pancakes,” he added.

Chloe and Halle Bailey went vegan after eating meat-free for a week with their mother, and they’ve never looked back. “Eggs and dairy never sat well with me … so it was easy,” Chloe told Complex. “When we moved to L.A., it really became easy. So many vegan restaurants and vegan aisles in the grocery store are like heaven for us!” The successful siblings noted that they’ve become better performers since making the switch, too, adding, “[Our] secret to keeping our voices in shape? … [W]e’re vegan, so we’re not consuming dairy and it’s not that extra mucus buildup all the time.”

The runners-up for this year’s awards are 16-year-old Stranger Things actor Sadie Sink and Black Veil Brides vocalist and American Satan actor Andy Biersack.

Previous winners of peta2’s Hottest Vegetarian Celebrity contest include Ariana Grande, Zendaya, Davey Havok, Waka Flocka Flame, The Wanted’s Jay McGuiness, and Fall Out Boy's Andy Hurley.
